General: Originally having been found in Vietnam, and Thailand, this smaller schooling species can be used to help add color to any community-based aquarium. The species Trigonostigma espei is considered to be very hardy, and typically a good choice to go to when initially entering the hobby.
Aquarium Diet: Brine shrimp, blackworms, spirulina, and general flakes
Compatibility: The Espei Rasbora is typically compatible with other community-based fish including other Rasbora, Danio, Tetra, and Corydoras. It is possible to keep Trigonostigma espei with livebearers, although they prefer slightly different water chemistries.
Preferred Water Chemistry: Slightly acidic (5.5 to 7.5 pH), soft water hardness (1 to 15 dGH)
Dimorphism: The male Trigonostigma espei will be thinner, and more brightly colored than the female.
