Description


General: The Fuhaka Puffer (Tetraodon lineatus) is from the large, freshwater rivers of northern Africa. Normally, the Fuhaka Puffer will reach a length of up to twelve inches. This fish species is normally considered to be "pugnacious" (better off being alone, or specifically with other Fuhaka Puffer) within the hobby.

Water Chemistry: Neutral (6.2 to 7.8 pH), intermediate water hardness (6 to 18dGH), 65 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit

Aquarium Diet (Carnivore): Brine Shrimp, Baby Brine Shrimp, Ghost Shrimp, Mullusk, Mysis Shrimp, Krill. It is often ideal to feed multiple times per day, while frequently performing water changes, in order to manage aggression.

Dimorphism: The Fuhaka Puffer (Tetraodon lineatus) male will remain slender, while the female will take on a more gravid appearance.

Compatibility: The Fuhaka Puffer (Tetraodon lineatus) is considered to be "pugnacious" (better off being alone, or specifically with other Fuhaka Puffer).
