General: The Green Fire Tetra (Aphyocharax rathbuni) naturally occupy the heavily-vegetated tributaries of Paraguay. This small Tetra can add a splash of color to any soft water, peaceful community aquarium. The Green Fire Tetra will reach a length of up to two inches, and should only be added to cycled aquariums. The Green Fire Tetra is a schooling fish so groups of six, or more, should kept per twenty gallons.
Fecundity: The Green Fire Tetra (Aphyocharax rathbuni) female may produce up several hundred eggs per clutch.

Aquarium Diet (Carnivore): Brine Shrimp, Baby Brine Shrimp, Blackworms, Bloodworms, Insects, Tropical Flake
Dimorphism: The Green Fire Tetra (Aphyocharax rathbuni) male will develop whitened fins when ready to reproduce. The female will retain her transparent fin coloration. Also, the female will take on a more gravid appearance when ready to reproduce.
Compatibility: The Green Fire Tetra (Aphyocharax rathbuni) are typically compatible with Danio, Rasbora, Hillstream Loach, Kuhli Loach, Guppy, Platy, Swordtail, Corydoras, and other small species of Tetra.
