Description
General: The Silver Tip Tetra (Hasemania nana) is a South American fish species that displays white tips on the dorsal, caudal, and anal fins. The Silver Tip Tetra will reach a length of two inches, and should be kept in a tank size of at least thirty gallons.
Preferred Water Chemistry: Acidic (5-7 pH), soft water (3 to 6 dGH)
Aquarium Diet (Omnivore): Brine Shrimp, Baby Brine Shrimp, Blackworms, Spirulina, Tropical Flake
Dimorphism: The male Silver Tip Tetra (Hasemania nana) will obtain a golden coloration, once mature. The female will retain her basic coloration. Also, the female will take on a more gravid appearance when ready to reproduce.
Compatibility: Being a very active Tetra, the Silver Tip Tetra should be kept with other small, semi-aggressive fish. These would typically include Dwarf Rainbowfish, Dwarf Gourami, Barbs, Hatchetfish, Apistogramma, Mikroramirez, and other Tetra.
