General: The Australian Ultra Scolymia (Scolymia australis) are an LPS coral distributed through-out sloped shelves of the Indonesian, and Pacific Ocean(s). The Australian Ultra Scolymia are relatively simple to care for as they do not require strong lighting, or current. Most Scolymia actually prefer to occupy the slightly shaded, shelf-like structures that deeper reefs have to offer. Typically, Scolymia are tolerant of other Scolymia, as well as other types of coral. Ideally, Scolymia should be placed well above the sand.
Temperament: The Australian Ultra Scolymia (Scolymia australis) are typically a passive coral. However, it is often best to maintain a six to twelve inch space between Australian Ultra Scolymia, and potentially aggressive coral.
Aquarium Diet: Filter feeding corals will experience accelerated growth rates with the addition of various species of plankton, as well as other microscopic food particles naturally present within cycled aquaria. Also, Australian Ultra Scolymia will also benefit from being fed various Species of Shrimp.
