Description

General: The Zoanthus sp. naturally occupy many shallow reefs, lagoons, and other intertidal waters of the Atlantic, and Pacific Ocean(s). Zoanthus are typically simple to start a reef aquarium with, after having completed the Nitrogen cycle. Zoanthus naturally prefer an environment with intense light, moderate current, and a safe area away from aggressive corals. It is important to ensure that there is a sufficient amount of Calcium, and Magnesium in the aquarium. It is also important to ensure that there is a minimal amount of Phosphates within the system.

Temperament: The Zoanthus sp. are typically a peaceful, soft coral. It is often best to maintain a six to twelve inch space between Zoanthus, and other potentially aggressive coral.

Aquarium Diet: Filter feeding corals will experience accelerated growth rates with the addition of various species of plankton, as well as other microscopic food particles naturally present within cycled aquaria.
