We firmly believe that well-informed aquarists make the best customers. If you have a question as a beginner or an expert, just ask. We’ll try to answer from our years of experience – or help you look it up. The only “dumb” question is the one not asked. We can answer questions either in-store, over the phone, or online through our website or Facebook page.
We will test your aquarium water for the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, hardness and specific gravity at no charge using in-store test strips. Just bring in a cup or so of aquarium water (water only, no fish) in a clean glass jar or a new plastic bag. We also provide detail water testing with higher accuracy ( One full cup of water needed) for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, Phosphate, Phosphorous, Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium, and pH for a small service fee. These tests can be used for either freshwater or marine environments. Test results for our detailed analysis can be provided over the phone or email including comments on water quality.
We accept trade-ins on healthy fish for in store credit. We typically ask our customers to bring in trade in fish during weekdays/nights. If bringing in fish for trade in on weekends, there may be a waiting period during our busier times. We no longer give credit for any dry goods or products, but can still accept them in store.
Even we can’t stock everything. But if we don’t have it, we’ll try our best to get it. We order livestock several times each week; if there’s something you’re looking for, just ask us, and we’ll see if it’s available. On supplies and parts, we require a 100% non-refundable deposit.
